Student Loan Interest Rate Has Dropped

From today (1st September 2008) the Student Loans Company has decreased the interest rate on student loans from 4.8% to 3.8%. This rate will last until the 31st of August 2009, when it will be adjusted in line with the Retail Price Index (RPI). The new rate of 3.8% is well below the highest interest rate, which was a staggering 9.8% in 1990/91.

For most students the amount that they receive from their student loan is simply not enough, however you may be entitled to a bursary to help you out.
