There is a lot of good free software out there that is useful to students and below I have gone through some of the most essential for all your needs at uni.

OpenOffice

OpenOfficeIf you haven’t got Microsoft Office, then this is an indispensable free alternative. It includes a word processor, a spreadsheet creator, a presentation creator, a database creator and even a drawing and maths program. It is also compatible with Microsoft Office files.
